Cindy is President of the AMA Charlotte Chapter Board for the second year. She held a variety of positions on the Board prior to a job change that moved her to a global role as Director of Global Programs for the Belk College of Business. Now she is back to teaching in the Marketing Department at UNC, Charlotte. Cindy teaches several subjects including IMC, Sales/Negotiations, Retail/Logistics and Creativity/Innovation in Marketing. For the last 3 years she has lead a Study Abroad Spring Break trip to various locations including India and Brazil. Cindy is also the Faculty Advisor for the thriving UNC, Charlotte Student AMA Chapter and has attended the Annual Collegiate Conference in New Orleans with a number of students, in addition to the Leadership Summit in Chicago.
Cindy brings in guest speakers regularly to her classes whom she has met through her many AMA connections. She believes in experiential learning and has students working with various businesses and organizations in Charlotte on marketing projects. Let her know if you have a great potential project!
Amy Leeper Knox is the Programming Chair for the Charlotte Chapter of the AMA and Branch Manager / Assistant Vice President for The Creative Group in Uptown Charlotte. Amy started her career in San Francisco and Chicago before joining the new Charlotte location. With over 11 years in the staffing industry, Amy and her team specialize in the marketing, communications, design and content niche, providing a complete range of professionals on both a project and full-time basis.
In her second year on the AMA Board, Sara is responsible for procuring both monetary and in-kind sponsorships to support the Chapter activities. A seasoned B2B marketer, she enjoys connecting with local businesses and creating value for our partners. Professionally, Sara serves as Director of Marketing at Kantar Millward Brown, a global analytics company within WPP that helps advertisers, agencies and publishers increase marketing effectiveness and drive brand growth. Sara is a graduate of Elon University and was thrilled to relocate back down south in 2012 after a decade in New York City. She has made Charlotte home and has fully embraced the Queen City culture – her Golden Retriever is even named Brew!
VP Volunteer Coordinator
After graduating with a master’s degree from Pfeiffer University, Vontenea Stokes, started her marketing career in industrial manufacturing at HAWE Hydraulics. Over her nearly 3-year span there, she gained experience in digital marketing, tradeshows/events, market research and traditional marketing. Looking to develop her skills in digital marketing she took an opportunity with tesa tape, inc. as a Virtual Channel Management Associate. Her responsibilities require her to work closely with IT developers to create digital tools that support the distribution channel. Her involvement within the AMA has benefited her career by allowing her to connect with other marketing professionals and stay up to date with the latest trends in marketing.
Morgan Brinton is the Marketing Manager in the third party logistics software industry. She serves as the first marketing role in a 35+ year old company and has built and maintained the marketing strategies from the ground up. Morgan graduated from the University of South Carolina (GO GAMECOCKS) with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations but decided to make a career switch to marketing. She joined the AMA to collaborate with other marketing professionals and immediately got involved in volunteering and joining the board to give back to an organization that has helped her advance her career so much. She serves as the VP of Communications and manages a great committee of communications volunteers.
Kristen Miller is a Digital Marketing Specialist in the Financial Services Industry. She has been working in Marketing for the past five years and specializes in social media, websites and email campaigns. Kristen has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University (MSU) in Telecommunications: Digital Media, Arts and Technologies with a specialization in Film Studies. After graduating from MSU, Kristen’s career started in the film industry as a Production Assistant in Los Angeles on many popular TV shows (24, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, New Girl, The Office, Water For Elephants, The Emmy Awards). However, after a few years, she decided to make a career transition and chose Marketing, where she could use her creativity and administration skills. Kristen lives in Charlotte, NC and is currently President of the Spartans of Charlotte Alumni Club. She continues to keep her production and event management skills current by volunteering for the Charlotte American Marketing Association (CAMA) as the Events Chair. Her favorite motto is “Don’t Panic, Organize!”
Sandra Wilkins is a Digital Content Strategist at Pinckney Marketing in Charlotte, NC. Her position at Pinckney includes managing the company's efforts to generate quality traffic and leads for themselves and their clients by using emerging channels, non-traditional media, content marketing, and social advertising. Before Pinckney, she was a Marketing & Communications Specialist at DyStar and Color Solutions International (CSI). She studied at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and received her BS in Business Administration and Marketing (with a minor). In her free time, she loves to try new recipes from Pinterest, run (because she tries so many new recipes from Pinterest) and read blogs about social media, content marketing, digital marketing, and alternative organic choices in food.

Daniel Bliley is a national award-winning marketing executive with over 15 years of experience working in the automotive, healthcare, banking, sports, and mobile technology industries. He is currently the head of marketing at Passport in Charlotte. Bliley graduated from the University of Virginia and holds his master’s degree in Marketing Management from New England College. He is the 2014 American Advertising Federation Western Virginia Ad Person of the Year.
