AMA Luncheon: Visual Commerce - Converting Browsers to Buyers

  • Dressler's

Join the Charlotte AMA for our first luncheon of the year! We are hosting Dr. Nima Jalali from UNCC as he discusses his most recent publication...

Turning Selfies into Dollars

Visual social media platforms such as Instagram are on the rise, and photos posted by consumers on such platforms often include brands. Dr. Jalali discusses this new marketing opportunity for brands, and shares some insights from his research in this area.

Nima Jalali is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing in the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte. Dr. Jalali’s primary research interests include social media and digital marketing. In his research projects, he utilizes statistical modeling to gain marketing insights from customer’s online activities, which potentially helps brands enhance their social media and digital strategies and tactics. Dr. Jalali received his Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Parking & lunch buffet are included in the ticket price.

Doors open at 11:00 am. Presentation will begin at 11:45 am.

Market Charlotte 2016: Technology and Agile Marketing

Market Charlotte 2016 will focus on embracing the power of marketing and technology. However, for marketers, embracing technology is not just about adopting new tools and platforms. It also involves embracing changes in mindset and methodology. It’s about striving to work smarter and faster for better results.

That’s where Agile Marketing comes in.

Along with many other benefits, Agile allows more effective use of the abundance of data technology provides. But as you can already guess, implementing changes in mindset and methodology does not happen overnight. It’s an ongoing and constantly-evolving process.  A great way to start is by becoming more educated on the principles of Agile. And who better to hear from than the two featured speakers at Market Charlotte 2016: Roland Smart from Oracle and Russ Lange from CMG Partners.

Smart, a product-oriented marketing leader who serves as the VP of Social & Community Marketing at Oracle, recently published a book on the topic, The Agile Marketer: Turning Customer Experience Into Your Competitive Advantage (you will receive a free copy at the event!)

Lange, a marketer with the mind of an engineer, brings a data-crunching analytical mind to clients’ marketing efforts through all touch points. CMG Partners offers two free downloadable research reports: The Agile Advantage: The Mindset and The Agile Advantage: The Methodology.

At Market Charlotte, You’ll Learn:

  • What is Agile for Marketing?
  • How does Agile Marketing create and deliver value for the customer and the organization?
  • What types of organizations are using it, what benefits are they seeing and what are the typical success metrics?
  • Why should you tailor your Agile method to your team, project, and culture?
  • How does Agile act as the marketers’ platform to collaborate with product management?
  • How do you adopt it for your marketing organization? What technology is involved?

So start your Agile process on the right path…with live expert discussion and feedback! And a night out at the Mint Museum Uptown doesn’t hurt either. Get your tickets today! Get Your Tickets Today!

Blair Primis, Vice President of Marketing for OrthoCarolina, will be moderating a discussion with two industry experts on Martech:

Russ Lange – Partner, CMG Partners

A marketer with the mind of an engineer, Russ brings a data-crunching analytical mind to CMG clients’ marketing efforts through all touch points.  As co-founding partner of CMG, he works to help their clients see the opportunities behind the numbers in order to achieve meaningful results. CMG’s clients include BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina, bp, Marriott, and Motorola, to name a few.

Roland Smart – VP of Social and Community Marketing, Oracle
