Marketing & Events Manager - UMAR
Working in a fast-paced environment , the Marketing and Events Manager (MEM) has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, managing and creating internal and external communications and marketing materials as well as planning and implementing special events in support of UMAR’s fundraising, agency and individual program objectives, contributing to organizational success and mission fulfillment. The MEM is responsible for all external marketing materials (print and electronic); managing community (including faith communities) and media outreach, social media platforms, website; and monitoring brand integrity.
The MEM will also focus on public relations and media opportunities to build organizational awareness and enhance visibility. As part of the Development Team, the MEM may work on other projects as needed. This position requires the ability to work weekends and nights on occasion, based on the needs of the agency.
Preferred and Minimum Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or equivalent education and/or experience along with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing and/or public relations. Prior experience in fundraising/development activities; strong relationship-building skills. Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Office, Constant Contact and fundraising software is expected; TALISMA software a plus. Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license. The employee will be required to attend Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid training.
