President’s Letter

Great Team on Board for Next Year!

As I roll off two years as President of the AMA-CLT, I am very pleased to introduce you to next year’s team and our new reorganized structure.

While researching what makes Chapters successful, we realized that our Board structure needed an overhaul.  The new organizational structure is already being implemented; it will be very apparent when the new terms start on July 1.   We are paring our Vice President’s down to five, under each of the five VP’s there will be a series of Directors with specific responsibilities.   These Directors will meet quarterly with the VP’s and Exec Board to interface as we all work together to achieve our goals.

Other Chapters have seen a growth in engagement using this structure.   Directors have a better understanding of their role in the success of the Chapter then general committee members; the Board can nurture these volunteers more effectively by providing specific resources and mentoring.   We will also have a wider pool of candidates for future Board positions that have been “vetted” in their current positions.

Let me introduce you to our new team who members voted in this February!

President-Amy Knox

Amy and her team have been bringing us robust programming for the past two years; Amy brings strong experience to President gained during her four years on the Board.   She is a rising star at the Creative Group, having been recently promoted to Branch Manager/Assistant VP.

President-Elect-Sara Beaty

Sara has been securing both monetary and in-kind sponsorships to support our Chapter activities for the past two years.  She is the Marketing Director at Kantar Millward Brown, a media and digital analytics company based in NYC.

Treasurer-Jeff Herman

Secretary-Cindy Fox

VP Communications-Morgan Briton

This will be Morgan’s second year as Communications VP.  Her team is growing our communications both internally and externally, our new website is only one example.  In her other life, she provides a variety of marketing initiatives as the first Marketing Manager at her company.

VP Programming-Mark Harrison

Mark has been a key player on Amy’s Programming team and brings that experience along with expertise in marketing and brand strategy and program creation to this position.  He is Founder and Partner at Opus 59 Creative Group.

VP Membership-Michael Orzech

Michael has been on the Board previously and brings that experience along with his vast expertise running his own promotional products company, Promotion Magic.

VP Sponsorships-Amy Stein

Amy has been a key player on our Sponsorship Team for the past two years.  Professionally, as Managing Director at Market Talent Charlotte, she takes an active role in the marketing community by connecting employers with great marketing professionals.

VP Engagement-Daniel Bliley   This new position combines community, volunteer and board engagement

Daniel has been growing our analytics during the last year; we now have a Dashboard and are tracking our numbers more effectively.  His experience as a Marketing Manager plus a variety of other marketing related roles will help us grow this very important role.

Please give our new team your support!  As always, you can contact me with questions or suggestions at ctfox@uncc.edu.  This has been a great year for our Chapter in terms of events, engagement, and as icing on the cake, we have ended in our best financial position in years.  This is all due to you, those who see our Chapter as an important part of your marketing life-Thanks!
